Hannes, the founder of our agency, has the Austrian nationality and has lived and worked in Salzburg until on one of his many trips he discovered Chile. Hannes studied hotel management and gastronomy and worked in his own restaurant and camping in Salzburg. As an untiring traveler he has crossed several continents is multilingual and familiar with a number of different cultures. 4 years ago, Hannes decided to go to South America and he crossed Chile and Argentina from one end to another.... and remained.
With the idea to present Chile and its culture to the rest of the world, Hannes created Montañamar Tours and he specializes in trips for people and groups who want a different and first class experience here, in the south of the world. Hannes has been perfecting his knowledge of Chile, its landscapes, culture, flora and fauna, history, etc. as well his skills in activities like fly fishing, rafting and trekking, all reason why he is a perfect connoisseur of the trips that we offer.
He has also obtained the title of Sommelier in order to personally accompany those groups that are interested in one or more of the wine areas, in a country in where the wines scale more and more to world class.

Kareen is Chilean and spend the first 18 years of her life in the mining camp “Chuquicamata” in the Atacama desert. Within Montañamar, her task is to discover new places of interest, to find a way to get there and to familiarize herself with them. Her explorations allow us to constantly enrich and complement our trips, besides creating other new and more novel ones.
Kareen is also a constant source of diversions and surprises, keeping you entertained on your trips, providing for an even more enthralling experience.
As a professional Architect, Kareen is at the moment in charge of a new design project for Montañamar Tours that consists of a Hotel with thermal baths and Spa in the middle of the rain forest of Chilean Patagonia.

Karin, our newest member in Montañamar Tours, is from Salzburg, Austria and her original profession is midwife.
Always looking for new challenges, her travel desires brought her here to Chile. Fascinated by this beautiful country and its hospitality she decided to establish herself here.
